HP wants to be a 3D printing giant with new 'Multi Jet Fusion' tech

HP has just revealed a lot more information about the 3D printing tech it teased earlier. It calls it "Multi Jet Fusion," and HP has nothing less than the goal of "changing entire industries" with it. If the claims are true, it looks mighty impressive. Essentially, it'll print 3D parts in a similar way to printing out a document with an inkjet printer. Using a four-step procedure, in which agents are applied to a material coating, which are then heated and fused to build up layers. HP said that using the tech, products like gears could be produced ten times faster than using conventional manufacturing techniques, at a bare minimum. It demonstrated one 3D printed product strong enough to pick up a car, and showed another part for the 3D printer, that was printed by the 3D printer itself (phew!). For now, the product will be aimed at manufacturing businesses, and there's no word on pricing yet.
