Yesterday, an Anti-Islamic protester/extremist faced his own death when his home was shot up:
Anti-Islamic shooting victim Nathan Abela has string of detractors
Hate group leader blames Islam for shooting
Now, depending on your point of view this guy is either protesting/warning against the rise of Islam in Australia, or promoting hatred against Islam in Australia. TV stations call this group "a hate group", the media is generally unsupportive of these characters and in the short scenes of interviews the TV has shown, they do seem a little extreme in the least, or at worst completely nuts.
However, the question i pose is this: In this free country - in ANY free country, the right to Free Speech is basically enshrined in law, and the use of firearms and murder generally frowned upon - especially in targeted shoot-em-ups, yet this guy and his little group of anti-muslims now live in fear of their lives (literally) because their viewpoint does not match the Islamic viewpoint and the politically correct masses. I've taken a peek at some of their stuff - its more than a little out-there and presented in the way you'd expect a "hate group" to present their views, but i'm yet to read anything that says they intend to murder any muslims. Instead of dialogue, someone opened up with a gun. So what's your opinion? Did this guy deserve to be shot at as some media outlets seem to be saying?
